Marrakesh, an imperial city in western Morocco, is a cultural center with mosques, palaces, and gardens. The Red Medina is a walled medieval city from the Berber Empire, with maze-like alleys and souks selling traditional textiles, pottery, and jewelry. The Koutoubia Mosque, a 12th-century Moorish minaret visible for miles, is the city's symbol. It brings together the old and the new. Enjoying the atmosphere is a major tourist attraction, with snake charmers and colorful shops encapsulating Morocco's vibrant spirit. The richly decorated heritage buildings in the city center have an impressive appearance and are among the most famous monuments in the country.

Marrakesh is also the gateway to the High Atlas, Morocco's main activity area, where you can go hiking, cycling, climbing, and do a variety of other activities. Even on a brief visit, you can get a taste of Moroccan mountain life by taking one of the many Marrakech day trips available from the city. Discover the city's highlights with our comprehensive 5-day tour from Marrakech.
