Starts from Marrakech

Marrakesh, an imperial city in western Morocco, is a cultural center with mosques, palaces, and gardens. The Red Medina is a walled medieval city from the Berber Empire, with maze-like alleys and souks selling traditional textiles, pottery, and jewelry. The Koutoubia Mosque, a 12th-century Moorish minaret visible for miles, is the city's symbol. It brings together the old and the new. Enjoying the atmosphere is a major tourist attraction, with snake charmers and colorful shops encapsulating Morocco's vibrant spirit. The richly decorated heritage buildings in the city center have an impressive appearance and are among the most famous monuments in the country.

Marrakesh is also the gateway to the High Atlas, Morocco's main activity area, where you can go hiking, cycling, climbing, and do a variety of other activities. Even on a brief visit, you can get a taste of Moroccan mountain life by taking one of the many Marrakech day trips available from the city. Discover the city's highlights with our comprehensive 3-day tour from Marrakech.

Mosque • Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate – Dadés Valley

Pick up from your Marrakech hotel at 8 a.m. and go to the High Atlas, a subrange of Mountains of the Moroccan Atlas, head through the port of Tizi N'Tichka with panoramic stops and take photographs of the small villages of the Berber countryside which are camouflage. Then we go south to Ait Ben Haddou ksar, where we visit the famed Kasbah (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986). Popular films, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, Sahara with Penélope Cruz…etc have been filmed on that spectacular level. Free lunchtime in the area. Then we go to Ouarzazate, which in Berber means "noiseless" or "without disturbance," also known as "The Desert Door." Here's the kasbah of Taourirt, one of Morocco's most impressive ksars. The next stop is the Rose Valley, a great place to see over 700.000 palm trees and various kasbahs built in its surroundings. The Rose Valley passes through the Skouras Palm Bay. Roses for cosmetic use, like the valued rose water, are raised in this Valley. A significant Moussem for Moroccan Culture is the Rose festival held every year here in May. We hit the valley of Dades, where we're going to have the night.

Day 2: Dadés Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel Trek and overnight in berber camp

After breakfast, Our second day will begin from one important mountain lookout to one of the most spectacular views of the Vallée des Dadées, we will admire the abundance of kasbahs and the picturesque features from there. From Tinerhir to the gorge, a very strong asphalt path brings the valley up to the mountains. We will enter the Todra Gorges after a few stops. The landscape is fantastic. Locals live in this area and are visible in their adobe villages. Those gorges are popular with rock climbers, thanks to their rock faces with many rough surfaces. You have free time to have a picnic in Tinejdad or Touroug after a quick stroll along the Todra gorges. And then we drive to the desert to reach the magnificent Merzouga dunes. In the middle of an open sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi), we will take a 1-hour camel ride to our Nomad Camp. We can see the sunset before dinner on the top of the dune and sleep in a tent under a breathtaking starry sky.

Ait ben Haddou Kasbah

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Cedar forests and monkey troupes of Azrou – Fes

We had a "date with the sunrise" really early in the morning. Waking early in the middle of the desert is a 'must do' to see the most beautiful sunrise in the center of a dune next to the camp. We then return on our camels to Merzouga where we will eat a wonderful breakfast. We will begin the final day north by the Tafilalet palm grove, the world's largest. Via 20 km of road, you can see thousands of palm trees. This takes us to the valley of Ziz, which fed the palm trees and descends from the high Atlas river. Here we rest and enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and the town of Aoufous from this elevated point of view. In Midelt, right in the center of the Atlas, we're making another stop where you have some spare time to have lunch and relax. We proceed through Cedar Forests throughout the afternoon, where we can see monks if we have a chance. The next area we are going to visit is Ifrane, a city located at 1630 meters above sea level on the northwest side of the Middle Atlas. The broad streets, community growth, parks, green areas, and architecture make this city look like a city in Switzerland. In Morocco, Ifrane feels misplaced. So why it's called Moroccan Switzerland and if that's not enough, Michlifen, we arrive at about 6 p.m. We come to Fez, the hotel transfer and our services are over.
