2 days from Ouarzazate to Merzouga Sahara desert Overview

Starts from Ouarzazate

Ouarzazate! A picturesque group of oases highlighted by the clear blue color of the North African sky, with its countless muddy canes, mountains and plains, running valleys, palm groves, and villages with red or ocher earth that contribute to the charm of the region and its tourist attraction.

This Moroccan city is located near the valleys of the Dades River (of the High Atlas), which forms the Draa River downstream from their point of convergence.

How to see Morocco in 2 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga desert

Pre-planning a trip to Morocco is as exciting as it is important. With so many different cultural identities, landscapes, and histories, there may be too much to see in too little time. Here Our mission begins! This is how you can get a full Moroccan experience in 2 days from Ouarzazate.

Ouarzazate Kasbah road view

Day 1 :Ouarzazate -Merzouga Erg Chebbi.

The departure is in the morning passing the Skoura Oasis where several ancient kasbahs remain amid the palm trees, some sadly in ruin. Our path from here leads us to KelaaMgouna in the Roses Valley where we stop to see the local cosmetic articles of plentiful roses from the valleys. These goods are well distributed and highly regarded in all of Morocco. You rest for lunch in the gorge of the stunning, still-green Dades. The journey continues through the Ziz valley and Erfoud. You can ride in the Sahara for two hours in the afternoon. The sunset is stunning from the tallest dunes (250 m) and then dinner and night in a nomadic camp on the dunes.

Dades Valley

Day 2 :Merzouga -Ouarzazate.

We travel from Agdz north-west to Taznakht, famed for its Berber glims and tapestries following the meal. On the way to the Bouazzer mines, we pursue the stunning landscapes. It is a remote part of the world and further off the road. We went west towards Agadir and passed the passes of the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and the pass of the Tizi-n-Tighatine. We stop for lunch at Taliouine, the center of Morocco's saffron-growing region and an excellent small museum of saffron growth. In the afternoon the road takes us back to Taroudant and continues along the frequently dry Souss river and endless argan trees along all slopes back to Agadir on the hillside. which we reach by the end of the afternoon.
