Start your adventure early as we pick you up from your Marrakech accommodation in a private 4×4 vehicle. Our journey takes us through the majestic High Atlas mountains, over the Tizi Ntichka pass, the highest in Morocco at 2,260 metres. On the way, we’ll make a detour to the historic Telouat Kasbah, where you’ll enjoy lunch and explore the kasbah’s intricate architecture. Continuing through the scenic Ounila valley, we reach the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its role in films such as Gladiator and The Mummy. Our day ends in Ouarzazate, known as the “gateway to the desert”, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 2:
Ouarzazate to the Draa valley and the Merzouga desert
After breakfast, depart for the Draa Valley, home to one of Morocco’s longest rivers. The valley’s stunning kasbahs and Berber villages offer plenty of photo opportunities. After a lunch break in Nkob or Alnif, we continue to Merzouga, famous for its spectacular dunes. Here you’ll experience a camel trek through the desert to a Berber camp. Dinner and an unforgettable night under the stars await you in the heart of the desert.

Day 3:
Merzouga desert to nomadic families to Tisardmin oasis to Khamlia village
Rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, a once in a lifetime experience. After breakfast in Merzouga, we embark on a full day in the desert. We’ll visit Erg Chebbi, home to Morocco’s highest dunes, and travel along the former “Paris-Dakar” route. Stops include the Tissardmin oasis, fossil quarries and nomadic settlements. In the village of Khamlia, we’ll enjoy traditional Gnawa music and a relaxing cup of tea. The afternoon is free to explore or relax before dinner and a night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 4:
Merzouga desert to Rissani market to Erfoud fossils to Todra gorges to Dadès valley
We leave the desert for Rissani, where you can explore the bustling souk. Continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossil marble. We then drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad to reach the stunning Todra Gorges. Here the river has carved a dramatic gorge, popular with rock climbers. After a scenic walk and lunch, we head into the Dadès valley, stopping at the famous “monkey legs” rock formations. Dinner and overnight in the Dadès Gorges.

Day 5:
Dadès Gorges to the Roses Valley to the palm groves of Skoura to the High Atlas to Marrakech
Our last day begins with a tour of the Dadès valley, with panoramic views of the kasbahs. Through the Roses valley and the palm groves of Skoura, we arrive in Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt kasbah. Optional visits to the film studios and the museum are available. After lunch, we return to Marrakech via the Tizi Ntichka pass, arriving at your hotel at around 6pm.
