16-Day Desert Tour from Casablanca - Best Morocco Grand Trip

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca – City Centre.

You’ll arrive at Casablanca International Airport, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Depending on when you get in, you might want to check out the Hassan II Mosque, which is Africa’s largest mosque, or just rest up and get ready for the next part of your journey.

Day 2: Casablanca to Meknes via Rabat.

After breakfast, we’ll head to Meknes with a stop in Rabat, Morocco’s present capital. We’ll be exploring the Oudaya Kasbah, Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V before continuing to Meknes, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 3: Meknes City Tour

Kick off the day with a guided tour of Meknes, checking out landmarks like Bab Mansour, the Qara Jail, and the Swani Basin. You’ll have some free time to explore the vibrant Lahdim Square and soak up the local culture.

Day 4: Fes – The Old Medina

On the way to Fes, we’ll stop at Volubilis to see the ancient Roman ruins. In the evening, take a stroll through the narrow streets of Fes’ old medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site where history and culture blend.

Day 5: Ifrane and the Cedar Forest – Middle Atlas

Take in the stunning scenery as you journey through the hills of Ifrane and the lush Cedar Forest, where you might even spot Barbary macaques. You’ll be amazed by the ever-changing landscapes as you head back to Meknes for another overnight stay.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert – Erg Chebbi

After breakfast, we’ll head into the Berber village of Merzouga, where we’ll stop by Khamlia village to experience its music, and then embark on a camel trek to a desert camp. You’ll be spending the night under the stars in the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Day 7: Rissani Souks and Todra Gorges – Ouarzazate

We’ll be exploring Rissani Souks and visiting the majestic Todra Gorges, known for their dramatic rock formations. You’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, which is known as the “Hollywood of Africa” thanks to its famous film studios. You’ll have the chance to settle in for the night.

Day 8: Taroudant and Taznakht

We’ll be heading to Taroudant, with a quick stop in Taznakht, which is known for its Berber carpets. We’ll also be visiting Talioune, which is well-known for its saffron, and spending the night in Taroudant.

Day 9: Tafraout – Atlas Mountains

Take in the incredible scenery as you travel from Taroudant to Tafraout through the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Take in the unique rock formations of this picturesque oasis town. You’ll be spending the night in Tafraout.

Day 10: Tafraout Exploration

Spend the day checking out Tafraout’s argan oil cooperatives, traditional Berber carpet workshops, and nearby villages.

Day 11: Agadir

We’ll be heading to Agadir, a city known for its vibrant seaside culture. Take in the scenery on the way and spend the night in this vibrant coastal town.

Day 12: Essaouira

Next stop is the lovely town of Essaouira, known for its whitewashed streets and busy port. You’ll get to experience daily Gnawa music performances and soak up the relaxed vibe of this coastal gem.

Day 13: Marrakesh

Drive to Marrakesh, famous for its vibrant souks, historical sites, and lively atmosphere. On the way, we’ll stop by an argan oil cooperative and maybe even catch a glimpse of the quirky sight of goats climbing argan trees.

Day 14: A city tour of Marrakesh.

Join a local guide for a tour of Marrakesh’s highlights, including the old medina, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and Majorelle Gardens. You’ll also get to visit the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where storytellers, henna artists, and street performers bring the city to life.

Day 15: Back to Casablanca

You’ll be leaving Marrakesh and heading back to Casablanca, where you’ll spend the night before your flight.

Day 16: Departure

You’ll be transferred to Casablanca International Airport for your onward flight.
